So, what's this blog all about, anyway? A lot of what I write and speak about boils down to how info pros and knowledge workers can move beyond finding and organizing information, and create real value with their insight. (Want to see what I've spoken about recently? See Bates Extras for my recent slide decks.)
MEBaddsValue.com is where I am putting any thoughts or insights into how to add value to research.
Your comments and examples are welcome.
I am so happy to see you blogging! I saw you posting on the Well years ago, but back then I was a different kind of information professional: a journalist. Now I am about to finish library school, and I'd like to work at a corporate or other special library, where I intend to add value in similar ways to my own research--I am guessing I will not have my own clients, but I have found success when I treated my coworkers as
"internal" clients.

Hi, Ruth! Yes, my Well activity was a while ago...
And yes, this blog is intended not just for independent info pros but for anyone who's providing information services to others. Most employed info pros I know call their users "clients", for the same reason you do -- it reinforces the unique value we provide within organizations.
